Interior Design - Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect during the shoot?

I understand, these projects are hugely personal to you and a big undertaking. I will work with you to determine what matters and what doesn’t throughout the shoot. I will also be shooting tethered to my laptop which means you will be able to see the shots before, during, and after I take them. You and I will pay attention to the big and little details in each shot to make it the best we can. Some shots can take 30 minutes or more to create, others will be much quicker. I take a mix of grand shots that show off a whole room as well as tight vignettes that capture a moment otherwise missed.

How should I prepare for the shoot?

Firstly, everything should be clean, floors, countertops, windows, walls, cushions, etc. Landscaping and pool cleaning should be arranged to be done the day before or early morning of. If the home is occupied please arrange for the occupants to be out of the house. It would help move things along (and get you more photos) if you know what general shots you want ahead of time and provide a shot-list. If you the kind of shots that feature a person (blurry) moving through the space, “Surprise!”, that person will be you, so come dressed or with an extra outfit that would be appropriate.
