Real Estate - Frequently Asked Questions

Who owns the images?

I hear you and I truly want you to be able to use the images however you need to in order to market the property effectively without worrying about legal matters. I also need to protect myself, and for that reason I retain full copyright ownership of the images, however, by booking a shoot with me I grant you the license to use the images in ANY way in order to market the home for sale, essentially granting you free reign to do your job as you see fit.

Do you use photoshop?

All of my images make a pass through photoshop. I often shoot multiple images that are later blended together to make an image that’s closer to how our eyes see the space, since a camera sensor is not quite as good of a sensor as the human eye just yet. It’s important to note that I make sure not to change anything in the scene that would be untrue.

How about grass/sky adjustments?

I make color adjustments to the grass and sky as I see fit (and especially if requested). I don’t like to see dead brown grass in my photos so I will take care of that at no additional charge.

How can I prepare the property for the shoot?

Glad you asked! Please make sure the home is ready for me to work as soon as I arrive. This includes removing clutter, cleaning windows/floors/countertops. If the home is occupied please arrange for the occupants to be out of the house when possible. Cars should be parked in the garage or down the street. If the house needs staging please have everything in place. The pool should be cleaned that morning if possible. Open all blinds/shutters and turn on all house lights (I will be turning lights on and off throughout the shoot but it helps to start with them on at first).

How long will it take and do I need to stay throughout the shoot?

You can expect the shoot to last 60-90 minutes for daytime photos. A video will require an extra 60 minutes. Twilight shoots are fast and are done once the sky is too dark. You are of course welcome to stay throughout the shoot but I am also comfortable working alone, so as you see fit. If you do stay I just politely ask that we keep conversation minimal while I am shooting so I can focus on making the best choices I can.
